First off all before you ask. I hate that fucking band, this painting has nothing to do with those jerk-off’. Prior to that band forever ruining that word it used to be a pretty cool car color. In fact it’s the color of my 1928 Model A which looks strikingly similar to this painting for a reason. I took a little liberty with the blower on the motor and technically i painted a 1930 model a not a 28-29 but whatever.. let’s call it a wish list. Also before I go on I feel I must mention this; If one more person brings in a CD of their horrible music and ask me to play it while they are getting tattooed, I don’t think you’ll like how the tattoo comes out. I’ll probably just tattoo two gay unicorns humping on you. Or in the event that you actually asked for said unicorns, I’ll tattoo a big dick on you with a banner that says “I have shitty taste in music please kick me in my balls or vagina and suggest better bands to me”.

This one really kicked my ass. For anyone that has painted with acrylic in this style I’m sure you ‘ve figured out the secret is to paint form the furthest point back and paint layers on top.
So the entire time you have to keep in mind the order in which to paint each section of the painting.

For example…
The blue background first then the gray ground. Then the passenger side of the car, and passenger floor boards etc, then the door panel and shifter and the seat etc… all the way out to the body of the car. Oh wait first you have to paint some of the engine so that the cowl sits on top of the distributor and bell housing… even the door has a few distinct layers to gain a true three dimensional effect.

There are about 15 layers on the engine alone. I think the biggest headache was that I painted it on Illustration board instead of Masonite which really messed with my speed as I had to let some of the acrylic soak in before I could get an opaque coat.

But i digress…
It’s fun to get back to some OG hot rod shit. I haven’t really painted much of it in the last year or so. Damn Tits and Tats project took up too much focus. (I know I let a little bit of tits and tats creep in, old habits die hard) So I’m going to try to get some of these Hot Rod sketches I have laying around finished keep an eye out...

I tattoo a lot of my paintings, and sometimes I tattoo something and love it so much i have to paint it too. This was a collaboration of both. I had the sketch worked up about three months ago transferred to canvas and ready to paint but it kept getting delayed and I had a little creative block on it. My friend Jenna saw the sketch and wanted it as a tattoo. So basically I had no idea what colors or how this was gonna be painted so i ended up working out the colors as we tattooed her. We went balls out on the bright pink hair and the style of the tattoo was very smooth and pop realistic, So i carried as much of that as possible into the painting. So glad we rocked out the pink hair. Thanks again Jenna!

My favorite article I have to re-read it every year around this time...

As a result of an overwhelming lack of requests, and with research help from that renowned scientific journal SPY magazine (January, 1990) - I am pleased to present the annual scientific inquiry into Santa Claus.

1) No known species of reindeer can fly. BUT there are 300,000 species of living organisms yet to be classified, and while most of these are insects and germs, this does not COMPLETELY rule out flying reindeer which only Santa has ever seen.

2) There are 2 billion children (persons under 18) in the world. BUT, since Santa doesn't (appear) to handle the children who believe in different gods, that reduces the workload to 15% of the total - 378 million according to Population Reference Bureau. At an average (census) rate of 3.5 children per household, that's 91.8 million homes. One presumes there's at least one good child in each.

3) Santa has 31 hours of Christmas to work with, thanks to the different time zones and the rotation of the earth, assuming he travels east to west (which seems logical). This works out to 822.6 visits per second. This is to say that for each god-believing household with good children, Santa has 1/1000th of a second to park, hop out of the sleigh, jump down the chimney, fill the stockings, distribute the remaining presents under the tree, eat whatever snacks have been left, get back up the chimney, get back into the sleigh and move on to the next house. Assuming that each of these 91.8 million stops are evenly distributed around the earth (which, of course, we know to be false but for the purposes of our calculations we will accept), we are now talking about .78 miles per household, a total trip of 75.5 million miles, not counting stops to do what most of us must do at least once every 31 hours, plus feeding, etc. This means that Santa's sleigh is moving at 650 miles per second, 3,000 times the speed of sound. For purposes of comparison, the fastest man- made vehicle on earth, the Ulysses space probe, moves at a poky 27.4 miles per second - a conventional reindeer can run, tops, 15 miles per hour.

4) The payload on the sleigh adds another interesting element. Assuming that each child gets nothing more than a medium-sized Lego set (2 pounds), the sleigh is carrying 321,300 tons, not counting Santa, who is invariably described as overweight. On land, conventional reindeer can pull no more than 300 pounds. Even granting that "flying reindeer" (see point #1) could pull TEN TIMES the normal amount, we cannot do the job with eight, or even nine. We need 214,200 reindeer. This increases the payload - not even counting the weight of the sleigh - to 353,430 tons. Again, for comparison - this is four times the weight of the Queen Elizabeth.

5) 353,000 tons travelling at 650 miles per second creates enormous air resistance - this will heat the reindeer up in the same fashion as spacecrafts re-entering the earth's atmosphere. The lead pair of reindeer will absorb 14.3 QUINTILLION joules of energy. Per second. Each. In short, they will burst into flame almost instantaneously, exposing the reindeer behind them, and create deafening sonic booms in their wake. The entire reindeer team will be vaporized within 4.26 thousandths of a second. Santa, meanwhile, will be subjected to centrifugal forces 17,500.06 times greater than gravity. A 250-pound Santa (which seems ludicrously slim) would be pinned to the back of his sleigh by 4,315,015 pounds of force.

In conclusion - If Santa ever DID deliver presents on Christmas Eve, he's dead now

I've had this painting stuck in my head for a while now. I finally got around to painting it. I’m really happy with how moody and somber it came out. For those who aren’t versed in Japanese Seppuku, the practice was part of the samurai bushido code. When the samurai brought shame to their feudal lord or shogun, also instead of falling into the hands of their enemies or as a form of capital punishment.

it was done with a wakizashi (shorter sword then a katana) or a tantō (knife) with a cloth wrapped around the blade so they wouldn’t lose their grip or cut themselves. Which apparently was important even though they were about to disembowel themselves..

After the left to right cut was made the samurai’s chosen second attendant, (kaishakunin) would take their head to lessen the pain. It was supposed to be done so that only a thin piece of flesh remained to keep the head attached.

Granted this was usually done in a ceremonial white silk robes but then you wouldn’t get to see her sweet back tat!

But enough about that, I wanted to see how hard it was so I ~~stole~~ borrowed a pencil and when at it with and xacto... these are all from the same pencil I just broke it off and started over... I have a few of the broken ends (I threw a few out too..)

While I admit mine are not as perfect as his. You have to remember i am incredibly lazy and can accept shoddy workmanship. That and these were the first few I’d ever done. I bet he’s been doing this for 20 years, I have shit to do I can’t waste my time carving pencils. Well maybe I can spare just one afternoon. Ok, so this was fun as fuck to paint! I spent all afternoon Saturday and Sunday watching the Lost TV show Auction and painting this. I lost every item I bid on. It really made me pretty sad. I loved that show and all I wanted was a Dharma Jump suit! ... or one of the hatch doors, or some fake Black Rock dynamite, damn-it! And I blame Amanda for talking me out of bidding on Lockes Coffin. $1200!!! come on that was a steel! I'll show you where I’d have kept it!

Anyway, I'm starting to blend my kustom kulture car stuff and my boobie series! Best of both worlds, right? This is going to premier at the Howley’s Hot Rods and Hot Chicks art show tonight, that is if no douchey customers bitch about her nipples being out. Fuckers.

I completed this painting last night in about two and a half hours last night for live painting art show in West Palm. The theme of the show was "exposed". I think it fits the bill. This is a tiny painting for me at 6x6, I had to break out all my little brushes that each have about 4 hairs on them. Unfortunately I have a bad habit of leaving my brushes head down in a cup of murky black ink filled water thus rendering them useless each time I go to use them. One day I’ll figure out that that is not a good idea.

If you are interested in the original let me know. Its $120 which is probably one of the most affordable originals I have for sale.

This piece has been in the works for about a year and a half or so. It was done using the art from my "Shi" painting.

The owner of the tattoo saw the painting and wanted to get it tattoo. I ended up drawing his other sleeve as a "Day of the Dead" bandito which later becase the painting "Merchant of Death".

Sins show in West Palm last Wednesday. First time I’ve done any sort of live painting. Which is probably pretty anti-climactic for anyone watching basically just me hunched over a small table with very tiny brushes and bad lighting…

This actually took almost 5 hours to complete but I’m sure a lot of that was due to taking breaks to talk to people that were interested in the work. Got some really good feedback on the pieces and some interest in some custom ones. The wife claimed this one guys, so sorry the original is not for sale, but I will make some prints. I also decided to do at least 3 more to complete the calendar set of 12, but I have a large commissioned piece I need to finish first.

Here is part 3 of the series. I decided to change it around a bit there are going to be 9 total peices 3 sets of 3. 3 Hot rod tattoo versions, 3 japanese tattoo versions and 3 traditional tattoo versions. I'll probably sell them as sets of 3 so not to break up the groups.

This was a fun ass tattoo, especially he made me hide her nipples in the original drawing to keep it PG-13. but after I lined it, turns out he had a small mole or freckle right where her nipple would be! That should be a lesson leave the nipples in kids or Jesus will curse you with nipple freckles.

There was a Disney cartoon called Pecos Bill that was one of my favorites as a kid… swapped the catfish with a Koi but you get the idea..

Now, Pecos Bill had a way with wimmen. No doubt. He had dozens of wives during his time. But his one true love was Slue-foot Sue. She was his first wife - and she could ride almost as good as Bill himself.

Bill first saw Slue-foot Sue ridin' a Koi fish down the Rio Grande. She was riding standing up and holdin' on with only one hand sose she could take pot-shots at the clouds with her six-shooter. Was making a right pretty pattern too. Bill jest went head over heels for her. Proposed on the spot. They was married the next day too.
Sue was dressed in one of them white jobs with the large hoops. Looked plumb beautiful. Right after they was married, Sue insisted Bill prove how much he loved her by letting her ride his horse, Widow-maker. Bill couldn't talk her out of it, so Sue climbed on that great devil of a horse.

Well, Widow-Maker bucked like a maniac, jest as you'd expect. Sue was thrown off - clear up to the clouds. Luckily, Sue was still wearing her springy hoop. When she hit the ground, she bounced up again. But we all soon realized Sue couldn't stop bouncing. She bounced so high she kept hitting her head on the moon. She was crying and crying buckets of tears, and throwin' kisses to her new husband. But even he couldn't stop her bouncing.

We waited three days and four nights. Finally, even Bill realized that she was gonna starve to death before she stopped bouncing, so he had to shoot her. It was a cryin' shame. Well, time heals wounds, and Bill finally got married again. And again. And again. But I'm tellin' you, he never felt the same about another woman as he felt for his first wife, Slue-foot Sue.

This is the wife’s arm sleeve. She’s busted my balls on this one it took us almost 3 years to complete because we’d do one small piece at a time. Luckily it still has some nice flow to it.. She’s even gotten a 1st and 2nd place trophy respectively for the two contests she’s entered it in.

I shot this in my garage prior to it being loaded with tools and crap. These came out pretty cool. The oil stains on the floor actually give it a really gritty look. I was really diggin’ how the blue in the car and the flower pop together. The rockabilly ones are pretty tough but we were pressed for time I wish I had a little more time to do those.

The Merchant of Death…. Just finished this on Saturday night, but you get a sneak preview of it. This 11x14 Oil on Board This was the first Oil I've painted in about a year. Very lose compared to how I normally paint and really different from my normal stuff.

It will premiere at the “Howley’s With a Side of Art” – Anything and Everything Show tomorrow night in West Palm Beach at Howley’s on Dixie Hwy. We actually did the foo dog almost a year earlier then did all the other stuff.. We couldn’t decide on which clothing would be best for this shoot so we did a few different styles. A couple more lacey and girly and one more can-can old west style. Amanda and I scouted around for the chairs we used (that look like a small sofa) We also came across some cool end tables that worked great. The hardest part was finding the flask, which I now find everywhere I go. The whole set up is in my living room including fake wall. If you look real close I put myself into the photographs on the wall all old timey and shit.

These photos were from a set I did with Lea Vendetta for Kustom Magazine in France. She found this awesome location smack in the middle of the suburban Boynton Beach and we almost had to fight bums cause I think we were shooting in their living room. When I visited the location the day before the funny part was the bums were dressed in military uniforms I can only imagine to add credibility to their “Vietnam Vet, will work for food” signs.. to bad they were younger than me. They were doing crazy whistles to one another which cracked me up. Yeah real subtle, like I wouldn’t notice his bird call to his buddy.
Despite the run in with the local gentry we were able to score some pretty amazing shots! Tura Satana eat your heart out!

Hmm.... well first off, boobies. Second, I normally don’t paint like this but I was inspired after seeing this cat Erik Jones’ work in Sarasota. I think I’m going to do a few like this. It was fun and only my second painting ever with gouache. One day I’ll learn how to pronounce gouache better than I paint it. I usually pronounce it like it rhymes with squash or sometimes coach. Sometimes I say go-shay! If anyone cares to tell me the correct pronunciation I will be happy… then sad…
